Big fish—particularly big brown trout—feed at night. You have to be a little crazed to be out there until the early hours of the morning, listening for big browns making toilet-flushing sounds as they gulp Hexagenia spinners and Brown Drakes. But you don’t have to completely abandon logic and fish blind. Trout feeding in the dark seem more locked into feeding and are generally far less spooky than fish under a high sun.
